John McGonegal's Story
John McGonegal is an online MBA student at Northeastern University. He is also Executive Vice President of the Investor Relations Group (IRG) in New York, a full-service investor, and public relations firm. When John was considering getting his MBA a little over a year ago, he was travelling approximately 100,000 miles each year for business. He recognized that a traditional, campus-based program would not work with his erratic schedule but he felt that something was missing in his career.
After some serious research, Northeastern stood out as a highly accredited business school with a superior online MBA program. The biggest perk for him was the flexibility provided by the school's distance education: "I can get up early in the morning and do my work. I can work late at night. I can sneak out at lunch time, get on my laptop, and do some work. I can work my schedule around my son and his schedule."
John now takes full advantage of how interactive Northeastern's online MBA is. He participates in discussions with colleagues in the online forums and in conference calls. He is exposed to interesting new ideas and theories in his textbooks and through his professors, but also through communication with the other professionals in his program. John has never regretted his decision to further his education with Northeastern University.
